Eating breakfast may be one of the secrets to staying healthy. No matter how busy you are, it’s important to fuel your body so that you can have energy throughout the day. A good breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day.

People who eat a healthy breakfast daily are more likely to have:

  • More vitamins, minerals and less of fat in the daily meals
  • Increased strength and endurance
  • Better concentration and productivity all day longs
  • Better control over weight maintenance
  • Lower cholesterol

A healthy breakfast should consist of a variety of foods. It should contain complex carbohydrates, protein and fiber. Protein can come from eggs, beans, or soy. Fiber and carbohydrates can be found in whole cereals, grains or in fruits. An example of a healthy breakfast might be something like a boiled egg and a small bowl of whole grain cereal topped with skim milk and fresh fruit.
