Short-Term Therapy Success

Shady Lawn Resident Tony G. pictured with two female staff members

Tony G. was admitted to facility following complicated hospitalization for acute respiratory failure with hypoxia and bilateral lower extremity cellulitis. Tony was dependent for transfers and using a sit to stand lift, dependent for hygiene, dependent for upper and lower body dressing, dependent for bathing, and able to tolerate functional activities for only 1-3 minutes. He was unable to stand and could not ambulate and was able to discharge home due to his consistent progress with therapy and motivation. Mr. G. was discharged home independently with hygiene, bathing, dressing and the independent with transfers using a rolling walker, and he’s now able to participate in functional activity for greater than 15 minutes. Way to go, Tony!
