April showers bring May flowers! We have certainly seen massive June is going to be an eventful month for Shady Lawn. Please join us on June 8th for our Shady Lawn Shindig. Bring the kids as we are going to have a lot of fun activities to do! We are proud to be a part of this community and proud of the progress we have made here at Shady Lawn. We are not perfect, but we strive to be better every day! We invite everyone to come in and meet our community and our staff. We may not be the most modern or beautiful of nursing homes but our community and staff are kind and caring individuals. Our facility is clean and homelike and it is our goal to keep on improving and strengthening our ties within our community of Cadiz and surrounding areas. This Shindig is our event to help our local senior citizen center as they are instrumental in providing needed services for our elderly in our community. We are always looking for ways to help and support our community that we love. Please contact Ashley Kingston RN for any suggestions that we may be of service to our community.

We would also like to spotlight two of our staff members this month who keep this community running smoothly and maintains our homelike environment. Latosha Quarles CNA has been with us for three years and was awarded CNA of the year by Kentucky Assoc. of Healthcare Facilities. She wears many hats for us including Medical records and CNA supervisor. She is in the process of pursuing her nursing degree and we are very excited to see what great things are in store for her! We are so proud of her! Our second staff member is Mary Hopson one of our cooks. We always know she’s cooking something delicious from the smell of good food when you walk in the building. But its not just how good she cooks its also the warm and genuine love she shows everyone here. We love our Mary! She is a true asset to this community.

Other community news – We wished Doug Latham well as he leaves us to take on the position of state wide Emergency Preparedness Director for our region 7 and 8. We also welcome Gavin Stevenson as our new maintenance Director, who comes to us with EMS background as well as facility maintenance experience.

We look forward to warmer weather and great times this summer! We hope to be announcing more community events so stay tuned for more fun ahead!

With Love and Gratitude,

Candy Denley
